Notes on how to think, speak, and decide: the neurochemistry of storytelling, rules for living, and the values underneath both.
Author

Benedict Thekkel

This is the smallest site in the collection and the least technical. It holds reading notes and personal working principles rather than anything you can run.

Three subjects are covered: how to hold an audience’s attention, notes from a book on personal responsibility, and the values that sit underneath the decisions in the rest of these repos. They are less unrelated than they look. Storytelling is how an idea reaches someone else, the rules are the habits that make you worth listening to, and the values are the thing being communicated. Outside-in, in that order.

Contents

Every page in this repo is kept off the site navigation, so there is nothing linked from here. The material is personal working notes, not a public reference.

For the published, citable version of this thinking, the blog is the place to look.

Not Covered Yet

  • The 12 Rules notes cover four of the twelve rules, not all of them.
  • Neither reading-note page cites its source, so attribution has to be carried in your head.
  • Nothing on argument structure, logic, or rhetoric as such.
